"Psychosis" is an unsettling visual and auditory descent into the fragmented reality of Borderline Personality Disorder—a creative interpretation of its symptoms, emotional turmoil, and the blurring of perception. Created as part of my Digital Video Concepts course, this project was an exploration of AI-generated visuals, manipulated sound design, and poetic storytelling to bring an abstract yet deeply personal experience to life.
The narration, performed in a disconnected, robotic AI voice, recites a poem I wrote, its words distorted and fuzzy—almost as if they’re being replayed through a broken phonograph. The black-and-white imagery, pacing, and soundscape create an atmosphere of anxiety, distress, and fear, mirroring the emotional landscape of BPD.
This piece was constructed using RunwayML, PlaygroundAI, Kaiber, PlayHT, FreeSound.org, and Austin Newman’s sound libraries, each tool shaping the unsettling, surreal aesthetic.
